NAMA Member Emily Fay reached a successful conclusion to her job search through networking at NAMA events and using the JobBank feature offered on this website. We asked Emily to share her success in her own words:
"I moved to Nashville July 1st of 2007 and had hoped to find a job in no time. It was not that easy. I joined NAMA after being a member of AMA in college. It was such a great decision to join. I got the opportunity to meet and network with so many people. I also had several job leads and interviews through the contacts I made.
I used the job searching resources that NAMA had on their website, like posting my resume with job bank, applying to jobs though there as well. At the end of June I received an e-mail from the job bank saying that there is a company that is interested in me from viewing my resume. I read the job description and it looked like something I might be interested in. The company contacted me and I had a phone interview, the next day I had an in person interview and a week later I was offered the job. It was a year to the week after I moved to Nashville that I accepted the job offer.
It was worth the wait!"
Our congratulations to Emily! We hope her experience with the JobBank will inspire other members to make use of this valuable resource.
